In The Beginning…

In the beginning, there was nothing. In fact, the world was so full of nothing that it literally had to create something so that the nothingness would cease to exist. But isn’t nothing a something as well?

That’s the funny thing about “nothing”; if you don’t think about it too much, nothing has a very simple definition. However, if you think about it too much, the definition becomes much more complex. Surely, a concept as intriguingly confusing has to mean something. Or, as the word suggests, maybe it means nothing at all.

Curiously enough, “nothing” can be a pronoun, adjective, or adverb. A void, an absence of anything substantial, can take on the role of three different parts of speech.

Just a little “nothing” to think about.
